It’s Pure Dark Brown hair dye is entirely natural and the final result depends on your hair colour before using it. The colour will be unique to you.
As a guide, you can expect the following:
If you have... |
The likely result is… |
White or very light blonde |
Light-medium brown |
Dark blonde |
Medium brown |
Light brown |
Medium-dark brown |
Medium brown |
Dark brown |
Salt-and-pepper mix of white & brown hair |
The white hair goes light brown, and the dark hair a darker brown |
To check the colour, we recommend you strand test a small section of your hair before applying to your entire head. Order the small 10g sample size to try it out and do a strand test and patch test.
A few other things to bear in mind:
You can achieve a darker colour result with repeated applications.
The colour is also affected by how long you leave the paste on. If you leave the paste on for 1 hour it will be a lot lighter than if you leave it on for 3 hours.
When you first wash out the dye it will often not be the full depth of colour but will gradually deepen to its true colour as the dye oxidises with the air.
On very light coloured or grey hair the colour sometimes appears to have a green tinge at first, but don’t panic - this will fade gradually over a few hours or days, as the dye oxidises, and the colour deepens.
If your hair has been chemically lightened it will affect the colour result. - Chemical lighteners make your hair more porous and thus absorb the colour less predictably.
It is not recommended to use chemical bleach after using herbal hair colour containing indigo unless it has faded or grown out. This is because bleach will not remove indigo so you may be left with a bluish colour.
There may be slight variations in colour result between different batches of Herbal Hair Colour. - The botanical ingredients can be affected by varying climatic conditions from year to year.

I had a bad experience with a bottled bleach dye, then I went red with the hairdresser to try and cover it. I then used your auburn red which I had used previously as it's such a lovely colour. Problem was, the bleached hair underneath was giving the red and orange look and to add to it, I had my brown roots and greys coming through to boot. I used your dark brown to cover it all and finally have my hair confidence back and it came out all the same colour. I won't ever make the mistakes again or use box dyes. A word to the wise..chemical dyes and henna do not work well together and need at least a couple of months before going from one to the other. My hair condition has also been greatly restored thanks to your dye and great customer service team :)
Very happy with this shade of dark brown I use to cover my grey. I usually apply it twice. The second application I apply around three days after the first.
I have been using It's Pure dark brown dye for a couple of years now and shall continue to do so as it helps rather than harms my hair and scalp. The results with the pre-colour treatment are spectacular: deep colour right to the roots. I think it also helps that I now only rinse, not wash, my hair after colouring.
Amazing, no ammonia smell (more like gteen tea!) hair feel lovely after without any conditioner. Will never go back to other hair dye now.
After L’Ore’al Preference for 30 years, I suddenly became allergic to it..after searching for some time I discovered Itspure. I have been using this for 10 years now it works great and even last longer than what I used before. The color has a beautiful shine to it. Very happy with it.
