It’s Pure Natural Brown hair dye is entirely natural and the final result depends on your initial hair colour, so will be unique to you.
As a guide, you can expect the following:
If you have... |
The likely result is… |
White or very light blonde |
Warm dark blonde – warm light brown |
Dark blonde |
Warm light brown |
Light brown |
Warm light to medium brown |
Salt-and-pepper mix of white and light brown hair |
The white hair goes light brown, and the light brown hair a slightly darker brown |
To check the colour, we recommend you strand test a small section of your hair before applying to your entire head.
A few other things to bear in mind:
It's Pure Natural Brown shade is lighter than the Dark Brown and is also a warmer colour.
You can achieve a darker colour result with repeated applications. If your hair is very light coloured to start with it is also possible that the colour outcome may be warmer (i.e. slightly more auburn).
The colour is also affected by how long you leave the paste on. If you leave the paste on for 1 hour it will be a lot lighter than if you leave it on for 3 hours. It also tends be a warmer colour when it is left on for a shorter time and a cooler and darker brown when it is left on for a longer time.
When you first wash out the colour it will often not be the full depth of colour, but it will gradually deepen to its true colour. So, it is best to wait 24 hours after you have done the strand test to see how the colour develops.
If your hair has been chemically lightened it will affect the colour result. - Chemical lighteners make your hair more porous and thus absorb the colour less predictably.
There may be slight variations in colour result between different batches of Herbal Hair Colour. - The botanical ingredients can be affected by varying climatic conditions from year to year.

Haven’t actually used this yet as I’m waiting until I see my hairdresser. But I’m really looking forward to using it.
This is an amazing product. It is a bit fiddly at first and it does have to be on the hair for a long time so be prepared to sit, watching telly, with a plastic hair net on. But the depth of colour and body it gives your hair is amazing. I also thought it was quite expensive compared to the usual dyes, but you get two sachets of dye and I only used half of one sachet. So, I will get four applications from one box. And, at first, I didn't think it was going to cover the grey around my temples but it does. I am very pleased with it. P.S. I needed a lot of conditioner after dyeing as my hair suddenly had a lot of body, which was good.
I’ve been using Pure - natural brown for almost a year now. It lasts about a month before it needs reapplying. Shampoo not designed for coloured hair will strip the colour quicker. Even so I rarely use colour-safe shampoo and just use conditioner daily. After the first rinse, I make sure I leave it for at least 48 hours so it oxidises completely and it lasts longer - not sure if this actually helps but I think it does. I have thick long hair and I find 1 box does at least 2 full applications. Having to reapply more frequently than traditional dye is a small price to pay to avoid harmful nasties. Make sure hair is wet and clean (freshly shampooed and rinsed / no conditioner) before applying. Put a shower cap on to prevent drying while you’re waiting for the colour to bond to hair and give it at least 3 hours on the hair - I do it while I’m working from home. Highly recommend!
Really pleased with this. Covers the white hairs with a lovely natural shade of light brown. Will continue to use it. I personally like to mix the henna with premium conditioners I purchase online. The conditioner contains no nasty chemicals. I leave the henna and conditioner in my hair for the maximum length of time and I find this works well for me.
At last found the right coloure tone, blends in with my not grey hair yet. Good quality.
