I've been a lover of henna for a long time and on and off have used another well known henna, and for some reason I thought I'd give this a go. Well... I'm not going back :) The ease of mixing up the paste - instead of shaving off bits at a time from a block (which I thought I enjoyed but this was sooooo much easier) was a joy in itself.
I was going for an Anne of Green Gables Auburn, and for a few reasons - the daughter having an argument with her new boyfriend being one of them, and not wanting to disturb them by going downstairs for a shower, but also I LOVE the feel of henna in my hair, and as such I left it on way over the recommended guidelines.
If I'm honest I was slightly nervous about my Auburn mission incase it went kinda carrot coloured (though that would have been apt - if you know the Anne stories) and I was thinking I may have to re-dye it, but was already planning to buy a Henna Red next :)
Anyway, whilst I was initially a bit disappointed in myself for not actually following the timing instructions, and thinking it was darker than I'd planned.... I am incredibly pleased with the result. The red tones are just stunning (IMHO) and after a summer blonde fling I feel like I recognise myself in the mirror again. And no need to redye to cover my dark roots.
I'm so pleased - and shared on Instagram my before and afters, then got such a lovely message asking if they could share and sending me a free box of dye as a thank you. I hadn't realised that was something they'd shared about on Instagram before, and it made my afternoon even more smiley.
They were super lovely to deal with, the product was ace and I've been recommending them to everyone around me already!
With henna love, Em
Pic shows before and after with the Auburn (left on more than double the recommend time but a good accident I think as it happens)
