It’s Pure Auburn dye is entirely natural and works with your existing hair colour, so the exact result can vary. The colour will be unique to you!

As a guide, you can expect the following results:

If you have...	The likely result is…
White, light blonde, or grey hair	Warm, coppery auburn
Blonde hair	Warm, rich auburn
Light - medium brown hair	Warm chestnut auburn

To check the colour, we recommend you strand test a small section of your hair before applying to your entire head.

A few other things to bear in mind:

If your hair has been chemically lightened it will affect the colour result. - Chemical lighteners make your hair more porous and thus absorb the colour less predictably.

There may be slight variations in colour result between different batches of Herbal Hair Colour. - The botanical ingredients can be affected by varying climatic conditions from year to year.

Do not recommended for blonde hair

Do not use this if your hair is light, I followed all the instructions correctly and was meticulous with my research and application - I let the dye did for 3 hours as instructed and my hair is now green!!!! I have naturally lighter ends but from reading the colour chart and looking at the before and after I felt confident in my choice of product as I liked all the results, unfortunately it’s now super uneven and green almost black through half my hair. This is my first time using henna and I hoped it would be a long term solution to my auburn desires but I am now totally put off and disappointed;(

Hello Jane, I'm so sorry to hear of this. Typically a green shade occurs after first use, while the dye oxidises on your hair, and dissipates after 48 hours.

We would always say to do a strand test before first use to avoid any unwanted outcomes.

As the Auburn is quite high in Henna it's unusual to hear of someone getting a black shade on their hair; and usually with lighter hair it will come up lighter than anticipated. Sometimes previous dyes, or products, can affect the outcome of the Henna; if you'd lightened your hair at all previously this may have affected the outcome.

Very Pure Henna

I used henna since I was a teenager, im now 66! I stopped about 10 years ago, anticipating going respectably grey. Being naturally dark blonde my hair has only a few bits of grey. I decided to celebrate my recent retirement by going back to being a henna head. This product is so creamy and smooth. I always had to rinse the henna out with masses of conditioner. Not so with this, I simply rinsed out in the shower-no shampoo or condioner. No itchy scalp either. What a lovely discovery. Back to my monthly henna sessions. What a treat. I shall buy again. On a regular basis. I used about 2/3rds of the pack and put the left overs in the freezer. My hair is medium length and fine. Highly recommend. Xx

I bought the auburn dye. Messy as described. I have light brown hair so initially it looked very dark , left on for 2 hours 20 mins, ( had enough by this point) but after a few washes and days it appears the colour settled and the colour came through. The tone Looks similar to the box colour. Will buy the same product again, so time will tell how long it lasts before I buy another .
