I've used this twice since buying and have no previous experience with Amla or any other ayurvedic hair powders, so have nothing to compare to.
The powder has a pleasant sweetish smell. The first time I used it I mixed it with shikakai and used it as a shampoo. I didn't notice it being in noticeably better condition after but it did feel clean! The second time I used the amla, I just used it on its own. I left it on for about 20 minutes. I'm not sure if it was the products I used after or not but I've been very happy with my hair for the last 2 days following that wash! The wave is more pronounced and less frizzy. I also feel like it's blended my greys a bit?
I'm looking forward to using this more. I do wish the packet was bigger, I think this will only last maybe 4 treatments (I have very thick shoulder length hair).
Oh here's a tip if you're new to it - don't breathe in while pouring the powder because it is so fine it goes into the air and gets in your throat!
